Technical Marketing Manager
At coherence, our mission is to connect people through play. We're doing that by helping game developers make incredible multiplayer games through our expert co-development services and democratizing our knowledge through our easy-to-use SDK and hosting platform.
We're looking to hire a technical marketing professional that can help game developers get started on their multiplayer journey with coherence. This person will create video and written content that gets delivered online, interact with the game developer community through forums and social channels, and represent coherence in-person at major industry events. This role combines technical marketing, developer advocacy, and community engagement.
You're a fit for this role if you're an experienced Unity developer with a serious passion for making games, and you love helping others understand and use complex technology. Bonus points if you have experience building multiplayer games.
The main objectives of this position are to increase awareness of our multiplayer technology, drive developer adoption, and tell our product's story at industry events, in customer interactions, and online through webinars, blog posts, tutorials, and other content.
This role works closely with Marketing, Engineering and Product and plays a key role in shaping how developers experience and understand our technology.
Responsibilities
- Build awareness of coherence to attract multiplayer game developers across online and in-person channels.
- Create engaging, technically accurate content that helps developers understand and adopt our multiplayer technology.
- Collaborate with engineering and marketing teams to produce tutorial videos, product demos, blog posts, webinars, and other technical content.
- Create or adapt visual assets such as diagrams, charts, and illustrations to improve developer understanding of technical concepts.
- Actively evangelize the product at trade shows, conferences, user groups, livestreams, and other outreach opportunities.
- Serve as a technical subject-matter expert for marketing initiatives and developer-facing content.
- Moderate and nurture developer community conversations across social platforms, forums, and events.
- Represent the company as a credible, authentic voice to the multiplayer game development community.
- Represent the voice of the user within coherence, delivering user and community feedback from multiplayer developers to our product team.
Requirements
- Professional experience in technical marketing, developer relations, or a similar role within the software or game development sector.
- Background in game development, you've worked on shipped games, with hands-on experience using Unity and C#.
- Strong interest in multiplayer games and networking technology.
- Experience creating high-quality written and video-based technical content.
- Comfort with public speaking, teaching, and engaging directly with developers.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives in parallel.
Bonus Points
- Experience in technical writing or developer documentation.
- Experience managing or growing developer communities.
- Hands-on experience with brand or community management through social media.
- Experience launching or scaling community initiatives.
- Prior experience speaking at conferences or industry events.
